Symbols of Yearning

I’ve often caught myself thinking in terms of the future. Yearning for things, for places to go, for things to do, things to be and so. Nietzsche would perhaps say they give us a glimpse of who we could be, our potential.

I am not fully sure if it’s an ideal state to be in. I think it sometimes might be useful to think in terms of the present.

For example, reading a poem today, instead of wishing that we will read poetry on the beach on a vacation someday gaining insights into the human psyche; taking a photograph of the sky from your phone on an evening walk instead of wanting to take photos.
